Within the statutory 18.50 meters, more tonnage can be added by adding axles to the trailer, raising the gross load limit from 45 to 55 tons but keeping the axle weight distribution the same as at present.
As of Decree 27/2018, the Government of Argentina established a new regulation that will improve logistics and make transportation more efficient, since more cargo capacity per truck can be added, according to the APF Digital news agency.
This new update of the regulation allows the incorporation of trucks with a larger trailer. In this case, within the statutory 18.50 meters, more tonnage can be added by adding axles to the trailer, raising the gross load limit from 45 to 55 tons but keeping the axle weight distribution the same as at present. Within the same length, distributing the weight. |

Chilean Roads Restriction : Chile Ministry of Public Works establishes Total Gross Weight = 45 Ton, as a function of the distance between extreme wheel centers of the vehicle, measured in meters.
This restriction is valid for trucks with 1 or more trailers. As well as for trucks with 1 semi-trailer, with single, double or triple rear axle. Distance = X < 13 mt ; Total GW = 39 Ton.
Distance = 13 > X > 15 mt ; Total GW = 45 Ton.

Lastly, In case of non-compliance with the above rules, the vehicle will not be allowed to proceed unless it eliminates the overload transported, either by accommodating or unloading the excess.
Loading Restrictions : Applies the restricion based on Max Payload per Ctr (Size/Type).
